Cad Design Engineer

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Cad Design Engineer for a newly created position. The role would suit an ambitious, self-starter who is looking for a role to shape and really make their own.

We are involved with the design, manufacture and installation of stainless-steel vessels and CIP systems to the brewing and pharmaceutical industries. All our projects are bespoke and tailored to meet the requirements of our clients.

Our clients expect a thoroughly professional approach with outstanding design solutions, products, and service. In this role you will therefore need to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions with both design and practicality in mind. You will need to have a fine eye and attention to detail and be extremely thorough in the design and delivery of your projects.

A knowledge of the brewing & pharmaceutical industry would be beneficial although not essential as training can be provided for the right applicant.

Due to the location of the office own transport will be required.

Duties

  • Produce 3D models, outline and detail drawings of products and components
  • Produce design layouts
  • Produce detail process (P&ID) drawings
  • Generating renders of finished designs for marketing
  • Generating BOM’s
  • Aid the engineering team for any design / manufacturing procedural issues
  • Client site visits (When required)
  • Assist with any other duties as required by the business in line with your skill set and experience.

Skills

  • A good working knowledge and experience of AutoCAD & Inventor (or similar CAD packages).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent IT skills including Windows/office programs.
  • Be able to interpret technical requests into drawings
  • A positive attitude, and a flexible approach to work.
  • Can learn quickly and work methodically under your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required

Desirable, but not essential

  • Knowledge of the brewing & pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous (training can be given as required)

Experience

  • Autodesk Inventor: 2 years (required)
  • AutoCAD: 2 years (required)

Benefits

  • Working hours Monday to Friday (Typically 40 hours per week)

  • Remote working – Fulltime office based initially with the option to work remotely one to two days a week after completion of probationary period
  • 28 Days holiday including bank holidays (this will increase by 1 day for every completed year up to a maximum of 10 years)
